There were elements of this story which reminded me of Airship's 1865 and I enjoyed them immensely. The story being told here is fascinating and justified. I did find the experience jarring at times as the episodes switched between narration and dramatic reenactment, but it's possible that this was due to my personal preference for the latter setting an unfair expectation. I may not have been letting this show be what it is. That said, it's a fine program and the talent involved is on full display.
